At special event on the 2018 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland, Honda Aircraft Company revealed a new, upgraded version of the HondaJet, the “HondaJet Elite.”
“The HondaJet Elite represents Honda Aircraft’s continued commitment to performance, efficiency, and environment creating new value in business aviation” said the Company’s President and CEO Michimasa Fujino.
“The result of innovation, design, and engineering, our new aircraft features several performance and comfort enhancements that, once again, set a new standard in aviation. We are excited to share Honda Aircraft’s latest technological feat with the world at EBACE.”
Improvements
The HondaJet Elite has a 17-percent greater range than the original HondaJet, which is 1.437 nm with four passengers.
The HondaJet needs less runway for take-off and can fly farther and have greater fuel efficiency than any other aircraft in its category of light jets.
HondaJet is already known for being exceptionally quiet, but a unique design of engine inlet structure has reduced both exterior and interior noise even more.
The Elite version has an advanced avionics system incorporating additional performance management functions for optimum flight planning and automatic stability and protection functions to enhance safety of flight.
The HondaJet Elite improved the G3000 flight deck and added faster display processors, automatic take off/landing distance computation for runway required runway length, V-speeds, climb and approach gradients, and performance planning for all phases of flight. New safety features include angle of attack, stability protection with Roll and AoA Functions, coupled go-around technology and under speed protection.
Passengers can enjoy new built-in, speaker-less Bongiovi audio system. The speakers are integrated into the side panels and it is lighter and promises a uniform audio experience.
There is optional full-service galley, Wi-Fi, two-toned leather seats, and operators can add a seventh belted seat in the private lavatory section.
The HondaJet Elite airplanes will stand out with three new paint options in colours that deliver greater depth using a new three-layer paint process. The colours are Ice Blue, Ruby Red and Monarch Orange.
The HondaJet Elite has already received type-certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and from the European Aviation Safety Agency.
At the EBACE 2018 the company also announced that it has expanded sales of the HondaJet to the Middle East with the appointment of Jetex Flight Support as an authorized sales representative based in Dubai. Jetex will represent Honda Aircraft’s sales in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Pakistan, Jordan, Turkey and Kuwait.
